Jon Light has more than 30 years of experience in the field of employment law, is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell, and has been named multiple times as one of Southern California’s “Super Lawyers” by Los Angeles Magazine.  As a co-founder of LightGabler, Jon consults with over 600 companies throughout California regarding their day-to-day employment law needs. 

Jon has successful jury trial, court trial, appellate, Labor Commission and binding arbitration results in lawsuits and administrative claims involving wrongful termination, sexual harassment, race discrimination, class action, wage & hour, and other employment‑related matters. 

 Mr. Light frequently speaks to employer and human resources groups, including the Ventura County Employers Advisory Council (EAC), PIHRA, NHRA, and numerous business associations such as CPA forums, manufacturers associations, Dental and Medical Societies, and Chambers of Commerce.

What is the purpose of the WVCEAC?
The EAC was established to educate employers both large and small on the never ending issues we all must deal with to remain in compliance with Federal , State and local laws and regulations and other information to help Human Resource Managers, Managers, CEO's, owners, etc to oversee successful businesses.
We partner with the EDD to increase cooperation and communication between the EDD and the private sector, and strive to continually communicate the many services available to employers by the EDD.

How We Do This
Present speakers at our monthly Luncheons and Half-Day Seminars that provide employers with up to date knowledge of ever changing employment laws, policies and Human Resources materials and data.Promote EDD activities for employers.Provide networking opportunities for employers to share ideas and solutions to concerns and problems facing California employers.

Jodi has been in the staffing industry since 1998 and has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Western Ventura County Employer Advisory Council since 2006.

Ed Eybsen - Programs Committee Chair

Collaborative Insurance Solutions - CEO

 

Ed has been a Consultant for over 30 years. He was previously a Senior Vice President with Bolton & Company before joining Colonial Western Insurance and opening his own Agency,Collaborative Insurance Solution in 2008. Ed has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Western Ventura County Employer Advisory Council since 2007.

Kay Miller - Treasurer and Hospitality Co-Chair

Technology Development Center, Ventura - Placement Director

Kay Miller is the Placement Director of Ventura Adult and Continuing Education's Career Technical Education program since 2002. She joined the EAC Board in 2007, serving as the Hospitality Co-Chair since then. In addition, she assumed the duties of Treasurer in 2015.

Martha Martins - Board Member

Raypak, Inc. - Employee Relations Coordinator

Martha has been employed in the Human Resources Department at Raypak since 1999 and has served on the Employer Advisory Council Board of Western Ventura County since 2012.

Talia Barrera - Hospitality Co-Chair

Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Ventura County - Administration Manager

Talia has been employed with the County of Ventura since 2009. She has served on Board of Directors of Western Ventura County Employer Advisory Council from 2009 to present.

Ryan Haws - Board Member

LightGabler LLP - Partner

Ryan received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in 2009.  He is a partner at LightGabler LLP where he focuses exclusively on employment law matters including, day-to-day advice and counsel (keeping EMPLOYERS from getting sued).
Ryan has served as a Board Member of the Western Ventura County Employer Advisory Council since 2012.

Aaron has been in the staffing industry since 2013 and joined the board of the Western Ventura County Employer Advisory Council in 2015.


Jacqueline Sandoval - Employment Program Representative

Employment Development Department - West EAC Business Unit

Jacqueline works with employers to provide assistance in job postings, recruitment services and labor market information. She also assists in specific EDD projects and programs like, Youth Employment Opportunity Program (YEOP), Agricultural Recalls and Rapid Response.
