Because of the many benefits of corporate wellness programs most companies view wellness programs as an investment in their most valuable asset, their employees. Discussion to include: Implementation of innovative wellness programs that seek to inspire health and happiness among workers and their families. Designing comprehensive benefit plans that includes major medical (HMO) dental insurance, as well as vision plans. Create specific employer sponsored private health clinics for the exclusive use of employees and their families. Learn how to design clinics to meet your specific company needs and the needs of your workers- such as accessible hours, minimal wait times, and bilingual and bicultural medical providers. Incorporate Healthy Lifestyle initiatives, targeted at preventing obesity, diabetes, and more. Empower employees and their families to make educated choices that lead to improved eating and excercise habits.

Yissel Barajas Director of Philanthropy for Reiter Affiliated Companies
Yissel Barajas is the Director of Philanthropy for Reiter Affiliated Companies (RAC,) the world's largest year-round fresh multi-berry producer. Yissel leads the implementation of RAC's field wellness program, Sembrando Salud. Previously, Yissel manage RAC's Strategic Labor Initiative, which foceses on recruiting and retaining sufficient labor to meet the company's growth plan. Yissel has a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in Urban Planning from UCLA. The daughter of farm workers, she has a personal commitment to farm worker health and housing and other issues affecting the quality of life of the farm worker community. She is a board member of the Ventura County Homeless and Housing Coalition for Rural Housing and the Ventura County Ag Futures Alliance.
